When a multi-page table is created on a facing-pages document, the table will now be aligned with "inside" and "outside" margins for the table proportional to the inside and outside page margins. The inside and outside margins depend on the position of the page relative to the "spine"; for example, a page on the left side of the spine will have the same inside margin on the right side of the page that a page on the right side of the spine has on the left side of the page. This same principle is applied to multi-page tables which are Page based (as selected in the Setup dialog). (If a table is Spread based instead, then page-relative spacing is igored entirely.) This means that Page based multi-page tables will be positioned symmetrically with respect to the spine, on each succeeding page of the table.
The actual "inside" and "outside" margins of the table (i.e., the distance from the table left/right edges to the page left/right edges), depends of the position of the table on the first page, which is wherever you placed it.
